The Graduate School of Education has a mandate to make dynamic contributions to the academic landscape by producing highly skilled educators, leadership personnel, policy makers and problem solvers.

Collaborating with the Institute of Technological and Educational Research (ITER), The Graduate School of Education seeks to promote and coordinate a quality enterprise that offers graduate, advanced graduate and professional programmes of study, conduct research and provide service to the public in accordance with its mission.

Currently, the School offers six graduate programmes and one post graduate diploma programme as follows:

  • Master of Arts in English (MAE)
  • Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT)
  • Executive Masters in Educational Management (EMEM)
  • Master of Science in Counselling and Social Work
  • Master of Science in Mathematics Education (MSME)
  • Master of Education in Special Education
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Teaching

Mission

“To facilitate the Mico University College in supporting national and regional development by being a conduit through which graduate programmes are offered via different modalities to students locally, regionally and internationally, who will be equipped with the requisite knowledge, skills, attitudes and values in teacher education, leadership and other related fields.”

Vision

“To become the Graduate School of choice in the region for policy makers, employees and students pursuing higher degrees in teacher education and related fields by:

  • Producing entrepreneurs, critical thinkers, problem-solvers and transformational leaders who embrace meaningfulness in the workplace, as well as lifelong learning
  • Contributing effectively to an improved quality of life at the personal, national and global levels.”
