Ceremony held during Mico Week 2018

The Mico University College awarded over 40 students for academic and leadership performance at an Awards Ceremony held Thursday March 22 in the College gymnasium during its Mico Week celebrations.

Jamaica House Fellow, Aubrey Stewart as guest speaker encouraged students to become excellent by looking into themselves, finding the things they are good at and making it excellent. Using his personal experience of growing up in an inner-city in Montego Bay, not having finances to attend university after high school he testified of the need to go after one goals and keeping ones dreams alive. His successes of completing the University of the West Indies, meeting the Queen of England and now a Jamaica House Fellow was testament of his encouragement to the students and staff present at the ceremony.

Among some of the awards were: The Neville Ying Award for the Most Outstanding Student in Mathematics, The Dennis Clarke Award for Best Teacher in Industrial Technology,  and Claude Packer Award for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics.
