President's Message: COVID-19

March 23, 2020 | Mico News Centre

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff:

Let me thank you all for your positive response to and support for the decisions/actions taken by the University College to ensure that you are protected during these challenging times. These actions, which included the closing of the campus for classes and for residential students, were taken in an abundance of caution, for your safety and protection.

Students, I encourage you to use this time to revise and complete coursework as instructed. Be assured that no student will be at a disadvantage during this process. We are developing contingency plans to ensure that all modalities and practices are employed in order to facilitate the completion of your academic work, even if the closure continues beyond the 14 days ordered by the Government. I advise that you constantly check your Mico email as you will be advised how to proceed and access academic materials and instructions during this period.

Faculty will be hearing from the VP of Academics, Dr. Benjamin, regarding the process to keep our students on target with their academic work and Administrative and Ancillary staff will also be kept updated on the process and new developments as they arise - again through your Mico email.

Keep safe, follow the guidelines provided by the Government and Ministry of Health & Wellness, and continue to exercise good judgment, as we navigate this new learning environment together.

Dr. Asburn Pinnock, JP.
