Project Analyst

Description of Role

This position is responsible for carrying out the administrative tasks relating to the efficient management of projects assigned, from project inception to project closure using a processed and structured methodology. The incumbent will assist the Integrated Technology Services Department’s manager and team by providing a framework within which they will operate. 

The Project Analyst will also ensure that all objectives are understood by the team and will support the team towards the common goal of efficient production, processes, standards, adherence and flawless delivery of projects within the agreed timeframes and cost.  He/she will spend a substantial amount of time on documentation and formal communication, such as Setting Key Performance Indicators, analysing project performance, attending project meetings and he/she will be required to coordinate project resources such as people, information, facilities and equipment.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Management or related field plus five (5) years of increasing responsible experience including experience in project administration.
  • Ability to model programmes and systems to meet the needs of users for desired results, understands and follows oral and written instructions; and the ability to explain technical material
  • Thorough understanding of project analysis, project management phases,   techniques and tools.
  • Computer hardware and software systems and programmes.
  • Excellent communications and consultative skills.
  • Excellent leadership, management and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to derive insights from large amounts of data that support and guide optimal project performance.
  • Meticulous in preparing documentation and reports
  • Organizational skills
  • Team building skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Decision making skills 
  • Ability to interface with technical and engineering personnel in order to discuss technical issues pertaining to problems, purchases or technical specifications.
