I am honoured to be the Director of Alumni and Development for my alma mater. I graduated from The Mico some years ago and have always wanted to find ways to give back. This position allows me to share with you all the positive elements of our college, it encourages you to remember your sojourn here and the values that we learnt. It is acknowledged that positive student experiences equal supportive alumni, and the traditions of the Mico have ensured its enduring legacy. I invite you to visit The Mico. Much has changed since you graduated and it continues to consolidate its position as the leading teacher training institution for over a century.
The University College has evolved into a degree granting institution and is on its way to receiving university status. We have increased our degree offerings which focus on research and innovation as we continue to ensure that our institution remains relevant to the needs of the 21st century. One such innovation is The Pre University Men’s Programme (PUMP) which focuses on young men at risk and have also refocused our energies on sports and athletics programmes.
No university can be successful without the support of its Alumni. So again I invite you to come home to The Mico. Volunteer, Mentor, fundraise and let us do it with thy might as we recommit ourselves to giving back to our noble institution, so that we can allow others to benefit as we did.
