The Faculty of Science and Technology plays an integral role in helping the Mico University College to achieve its vision to be the “University of Choice” in the Caribbean.

In this Faculty, we’re dedicated to bettering our students and the world at large. We empower and prepare our student teachers for rewarding and impactful careers through an applied approach to education. The delivery of this education takes place in a supportive, caring, nurturing and collaborative community, facilitated by accessible and highly qualified staff members who strive every day to challenge, inspire and educate those who are enrolled in our programmes.

This pioneering Faculty of Science and Technology is home to five departments: Natural Sciences which offer the following programmes: Geography, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, Mathematics, Computer Studies, Human Ecology and Hospitality Services and Industrial Technology. Collectively, the diverse courses that are offered here will provide graduates with a rich educational platform that will propel student teachers to excel in their areas of specialization.

The departments in the Faculty utilize the latest technologies, teaching strategies, and best practices in education. Our students learn proven techniques and cutting-edge new methods and, more importantly, how to maximize the impact of their unique skills and perspectives in the daily activities at Mico. Also, of utmost importance to the Faculty is the need for students to develop “soft-skills“ and the right attitude as they sojourn through the Mico. These attributes will help them to function effectively in their workplaces.

Our Faculty prides itself in developing world-class professionals through a focus on STEM methodologies and technological advancements. We provide our students with the fundamental skills they will need to excel on their scholastic journey here and beyond. Our most crucial goal is to affect positive change in the world and ensure students are able to do so in ways that respect and affirm their backgrounds and challenges.
