Payroll Clerk

Description of Role

This position is responsible for the accurate preparation and processing of payroll.  The incumbent will be responsible for calculating earnings and deductions in accordance with established practices and guidelines.

Requirement

  • Sound knowledge of relevant computer applications
  • Sound knowledge of ACCPAC and Turbo Pay
  • Good knowledge of relevant computer applications such as Microsoft Office
  • Good knowledge of payroll  regulations and requirements  
  • 2-3 years’ working experience in payroll processing.
  • CAT Level 11 or similar professional training or training in Accounting
  • Bachelors in Management /Business Administration
  • Payroll Certification
  • Ability to work in ACCPAC and Turbo Pay
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills, multi-tasking, organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to learn and apply generally accepted accounting methods and principles
  • Excellent people skills
  • Solid data entry skills
  • Strong numerical skills
  • Understanding of internal controls
  • Attention to detail 
  • Planning and organizing skills
